We had a great time at our Elementary School this morning - Donuts with Dad. However, recently I met a young man who was quiet and timid. I wondered why, until one day he said with a sad face, I dont have a dad. So naturally we took him with us this morning and he sat with me and my kids. Come to find out, this boys dad passed away before he was even born. Instantly, everything else made sense. My heart was torn in two to think of the pain this young man struggles with under the surface. What seems to make it worse is that many others carry burdens like this on a daily basis. O, how I long for a day when God dries the tears of His children! When pain is just a memory and death is no more. Until then, we have a comfort to hold onto and yet offer to others at the same time. I know Jesus is a Father to the fatherless and He gives hope and comfort that no one else can. I pray that God will use me to comfort others with the good news of the gospel while I am waiting for that day to come. So today, take a look around you and think about the pain and burdens people are struggling with underneath the surface. Before you respond in anger, think about what showing them the love of Jesus may do for them. God, give us the strength to be your hands and feet.
