We had a pleasant surprise last night. I mentioned to Andy - TopicsExpress

We had a pleasant surprise last night. I mentioned to Andy Yarbrough, one of my Facebook friends (who by-the-way is a genuine living example of how to love others as taught by Jesus) that my computer crashed on me a couple weeks ago. Well..Brenda and I started looking around for a used computer. We couldnt find anything in any of the computer stores that we could afford. I called Walmart and was told that they had an 80 gig refurbished tower for $129.00 but when we got there the least expensive one they had was $239.00. So..we wound up going to K-Mart after talking with their electronics manager. Turns out K-Mart sells refurbished computers. We ordered one with Windows 7 home premium for $89.00. 4 gig of ram and 80 gig hard drive. Yeah I know that by todays standards thats not a lot of memory but its more than enough for what I need. Todd, the electronics manager handled the order for us and told us it would take 7 to 10 business days for it to arrive. It took only 4 business days for it to be delivered to our door. And unlike buying a used computer from a computer shop, this one has a full one year warranty. After getting it set up and activating the product key with Microsoft I decided to run an internet speed test. Expecting to see a speed of roughly 30 megabit per second..I got a test result of 65.4 megabit per second! I ran the test 4 or 5 times and then called Charter communications. As it turns out Charter had upgraded our internet speed at no additional cost. How cool is that?!? Things being what they are..getting a little more than double what we were getting and the cost staying the same...Thank you Charter Communications!
