We had a successful discussion with Goldtree Oil Palm Company today. A team of high delegation jointly with the parliamentary comm. on Lands and the Environment. In first week of September 2013, Hon. Jajua raised some concerns about the non compliance of Goldtree to their corporate social responsibilities in Njaluahun, were the obtained at presence bulk of the fruits. This concerns were formerly reported to EPA, and the Parliamentary committee on the Environment and a site visit was fixed by EPA for amicably settle these issues. The out come of the meeting were: 1. The Njaluahun Chiefdom should be added to the major stakeholders committee and should have a representative in all its meetings. 2. That the hybrid seedlings should be provided to all their out-growers. 3. That the company should comply to the local content policy both in terms of employment and business transactions. 4. That youths should be given the opportunity in terms of employment and also consider the 30% quoter of women.
