We had a wonderful visit with my brother, David, and his family. They will leave for Cambodia again next month. Should be about 4 yrs. before we visit again :( Robert and Ryan put their creative minds together this morning to come up with a versatile, moveable whelping area for Aggie. Because we are not a kennel, or set up like one, sometimes this takes a pretty good imagination and some hours thinking everything through. They cleaned out the pole barn and moved some of the machinery out. We pulled the stock trailer into the back. I will set up the whelping crate in the stock trailer and can hang a heat lamp safely from the top. Aggie can come out into stock trailer away from the pups in the whelping crate when she needs relief. I will exercise her daily. This should work great, as with her first litter she tended to bury them by trying to dig out of the kidding stalls:( (which caused me great stress and anxiety) and she really didnt feel at home in the house. When the pups do not require supplemental heat, we can move the stock trailer out of the pole barn into the field where I can surround it with electric netting to allow her to remain close to the pups, but give her some additional freedom and room to move. Keeping our fingers crossed that this system will work better for her this time. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers as Aggie approaches her due date; as soon as Tuesday and as late as Mothers Day. We currently hold deposits on two girls from Aggie/Einar! Robert and Ryan continued weeding in the hoop house this afternoon and hope to finish up tomorrow. The outdoor garden is still too wet to work in. We sink past our ankles in the mud. I bathed Scooter and Jasmine this afternoon and clipped toenails.
