We had another LONG day of appointments today. Last Thursday, on her first day back to school, Kacey pulled a box of books down off of a shelf and it landed on her foot. As a result she has a lower tibia fracture. Due to her chemo and inactivity her bones are like eggshells so she has her 12th and hopefully final cast on. She also has an infection at her incision sight so they have postponed her port removal surgery that was scheduled for tomorrow. They will recheck everything in three weeks to see if her fracture has healed enough to finally proceed with the fitting of her prosthetic and to check the incision sight to see if they need to go in and clean it out and restitch it. As you can also see, she threw up her feeding tube once again. Understandably, Kacey is not a big fan of it going down so we are going to try to leave it out for now to see if her nausea settles and her appetite is maybe finally coming back. Just a few minor set backs that really seem like no big deal at this point. We really enjoyed the beautiful day outside in between appointments. Kacey made some wishes in the fountain and even got to go behind the scenes at Peterbrook Chocolate and make her own chocolate covered pretzel! Which mommy thoroughly enjoyed!!!
