We had to let Zelda go. Originally diagnosed with an ulcer, her GI - TopicsExpress

We had to let Zelda go. Originally diagnosed with an ulcer, her GI issues turned out to be much more serious, and the vet suspected some sort of cancer in her GI tract. Already terribly underweight, she began having trouble keeping food down. When she began throwing up her water, knew something was really wrong. I wasnt going to put a senior dog who was already hearing- and vision-impaired through a bunch of lengthy tests to determine what was wrong. So instead I let her explore the backyard, sleep in a comfortable bed, enjoy baby food (Ham-flavored) and take a refreshing swim until it wasnt fun for her anymore. (Thanking Tamara Dull for your help with Zelda while I was traveling.) I discovered Zelda at East Valley Animal Shelter circling her kennel and walking in her own poop. Her last month was full of good food, lots of grass, exploring, sleeping, and swimming. We could all do worse. Zelda had a beautiful soul, and I wish Id known her longer. But for three weeks, it was my privilege. Bye sweet girl--and say hi to Amy for me!
