We have a #ThrowbackThursday from Brigitte Perera, our structural fire intern at Great Smoky Mountains National Park. She tracked down the architectural plans for the parks headquarters building from 1939. They show the building had a Telephone Room. The building was completed in 1940 and was intended to guide the establishment of an architectural theme thought to be appropriate for the park and its geographic region. It is considered one of the historic structures located in the park with stone cladding quarried within the park and laid by CCC-trained masons.
