We have a bit of a dilemma I was wondering if a priest could help - TopicsExpress

We have a bit of a dilemma I was wondering if a priest could help us with. We are converts of 10 years. When we converted we only had 4 of our 8 with us, and I was pregnant. Our priest was elderly and retired then, but in the last couple years he truly had to retire and lives out of state. (small elderly parish in the South) Now we have visiting priests as we can get them, only for Sunday morning. At that time our disabled daughter was not quite as advanced in her disease, it was not even formally dxed yet. Since then she has progressed to adding epilepsy and more to the complexity if her syndrome. (Rett Syndrome) she has seized in the pew during liturgy. She has fallen and hit her head on tile downstairs in the basement fellowship area, requiring urgent care visit. Now she has to use her wheelchair to be safe at church at all. It does not fit in the nave or narthex without blocking other entrants. I can wrestle it downstairs when strong enough, but have to go outside and up the road to come around to top entrance to Nave to get her to Communion. I am obviously not participating in worship by tending her and the toddler. I feel terrified to ever approach the cup, and as though it is useless to be there. Suffering severe shoulder injury due to lifting said sn child during a seizure has me at home with her and one son to help, sending the other sons and dds to church with their father. This is all very frustrating, and we dont really have any way to change it. So between lack of priests/services or needs of this child I am always self excommunicated. Priestly wisdom much appreciated!
