We have a question from a follower who is having difficulties feeding her son. She lives Mumbai, India. I am sharing the geographic area in case any of you are connected to people and resources there: Hi, i am mother of 15 yrs old CP Quadriplegic son who is bedridden n cant talk. From last 5-6yrs he has become very slow eater. He sits in my lap during feedings that takes 2/3 hours. I hv been d only 1who takes his care 24x7 for all these years. I am not keeping well for last 10 yrs due to tension. I dont understand how to make him sit in his wheelchair while feeding. Can i get any suggestion from any1? My questions/comments to you Mom are: Wow, yes, this certainly goes beyond the kind of patience I was referring to in my post on waiting. I am sure you are exhausted. Its understandable. Here are some questions to help guide the conversation: Do you have access to any therapists in your area? Has your son ever been able to have proper support while sitting in order to eat in his own chair? Have you consulted with anyone about the need for a feeding tube? I am not familiar with this process and determining when its appropriate, but I do wonder if it may be worth considering for your sons situation. Perhaps some other parents can share their insight. Lets see what input we get. Much love and strength to you and your son. Michele
