We have changed our lab procedure to better serve your dogs health needs. The annual heartworm test will now also test for Lyme disease, Ehrlichia and Anaplasma (all vector-borne diseases). Lyme disease has been in the news a lot lately starting with the recent Banfield Pet Hospitals State of Pet HealthTM Report released April 15, 2014 that reported a ...21 percent increase in the prevalence of infection with the bacterium that causes Lyme disease in dogs. Both news reports and new studies are being published about the increased prevalence and spread of Lyme disease from New York to Ohio to California.
