We have done the impossible and that makes us mighty. - Captain Mal Reynolds, Firefly As of today El Jefe Design is officially no more. I am in the midst of closing everything down, packing up the store, bringing the site down, signing the papers, and saying good bye to all the people who have supported me over the years. I have learned a lot over the last 9+ years. I made a lot of mistakes and had huge successes. I am ending this after my best year in business and feel I am leaving on my own terms to do something even better! This has been a long time coming and not something I did lightly or on a whim. I am proud to say that every year that I have been running the company it has grown and been more successful - much to my accountants chagrin. I have been honored to work with such great people as The Gaslight Anthem, Frank Turner, Chuck Ragan, The Foo Fighters, The Decemberists, The Bouncing Souls, the wonderful people at Rise Records and SideOneDummy, and many, many more. I am proud to say with my work that I helped raise tens of thousands of dollars for charities like The Red Cross, So Others Might Eat, The MC Humane Society, and multiple Sandy Relief organizations. I have seen my work hung up in galleries, clubs, and homes. I have received delighted emails from people who were brave enough to get my work inked into them forever. I am awed and humbled by you all. With that I am moving on to a new company called Rockets are Red. More information will be coming soon about this new venture but I will say, I am truly excited about the work we will do. Over the years, El Jefe Design became known as the poster dude, and though that is a compliment, there is much more I want to do - logos, websites and apps, illustration, branding, and more. Rockets are Red will allow me to do that and will have a name that is pronounceable to most people. Yes, there will be more posters - Childish Gambino, Brand New, and several gallery pieces are in the works - but I need to take a break and learn to love that work again. I would like to thank my wonderful family - Kelly, Max, and Alex - who have helped me through all of this, lending patience, a keen eye, and important advice. I would also like to thank Anna Jacobson-Leong who took a chance on me five years ago and still is a wonderful friend - a true gem in this ruthless world. There are many more I could name but I would rather thank you in person with a tall drink and a discussion on wrestling. Thank you again for everything! I hope you check out what I am doing with some great people at Rockets are Red. Keep flying. Jeff-
