We have four reported incidents for you this week. 28 June 2013, unlawful taking of vehicle. A car stolen from Broderick Road was stopped in a routine check by Police in Rotorua and found being driven by an unlicensed driver. The vehicle had suffered no damage as it had been started with a key which was in the ignition. This emphasises the need to never leave a key in the car or on the kitchen table where it can easily be picked up. 4 July 2013, Attempted unlawful taking of vehicle. An attempt was made to steal a Kawasaki motorbike parked in the Countdown car park on Johnsonville Road during the day on Thursday 4 July. The front wheel had been locked to the frame. Offender had attempted to jemmy the lock and had also interfered with the ignition barrel. 5 July 2013, unlawful taking of vehicle. Please report any sighting or other information to Johnsonville Police. 5 July 2013, burglary. Offender(s) removed a downstairs window and frame to gain entry to a house in Moorefield Road. A bed pushed against the door prevented further access. A further entry attempt was made by forcing an outside door which did not yield.
