We have had another long day of Dr.s. appointments.Today we meet the Orthopedic Surgeon that will be doing Dawsons Surgery. We are really impressed with her and Dawson really liked her. She is a former surgeon from the Shriners Hospital in California. We had more xrays and testing and they finally have the plan together. I think???....... Next Friday he will go back to UNC and have a special CT Scan that they will use along side of his MRI that will allow them to be able to map and mark each of his muscles, ligaments, tendons and bones so that they will know what they will be working with. Surgery is scheduled for the following Wednesday, Sept. 24, as long as everything is ok with the CT Scan and nothing else has to be done. We found out a lot of information today about the surgery, that we were not expecting. The surgery will take about 5-6 hours and will require them to remove bone and cartilage from his hip. It is going to be very extensive, but the Dr. is very positive that this will hopefully work. He is be in the hospital for about 3 or 4 days. Thank you for all the prayers, calls and text. Sorry I havent been able to respond, there is NO Service in the hospital.
