We have had several people ask about auditions for our upcoming production of Steel Magnolias. We are not having open auditions for this show for the following reasons. Our theatre is operated solely by volunteers, and everyone involved with it participates on a part-time basis. Because of this, we occasionally run into scheduling conflicts and time crunches with our day-to-day lives as we are trying to plan upcoming shows. In our four years of existence, this is the first time we have cast a play without open auditions. At the same time we are preparing for Steel Magnolias, however, we are also in the planning stages for a summer musical. We hope to have open auditions, which is the rule (rather than the exception), for that show before Steel Magnolias opens. We apologize for any disappointment that this has caused, but hope you understand the difficulties we face in trying to keep this community theatre vibrant, while still regularly delivering quality productions for our audiences. Thank you all so much for your faithful and dedicated support for the theatre, and for helping keep local theatre alive and well in London, Laurel County, and southeastern Kentucky, and we look forward to seeing you at our next auditions!
