We have many thunderstorms where we get 5" of rain in an hour. Imagine, Florida tourist board calls this place the sunshine state. The intense thunderstorm state would be more accurate. Lightning hit a 200 year old oak here that was 5" in diameter and each limb was as big as a tree. The literally exploded. The stump is surrounded by massive limbs on the ground. Much of that oak tree vaporized. The falling massive limbs missed my barn by inches.
