We have opted out of dental insurance most of our 31 years of marriage and paid out of our own pocket when needed. I calculated about 10k for the whole family. If we would have taken the insurance at 90 dollars every two weeks it would have amounted to 48k. That is an impressive difference. We saved 38 grand .But if we had invested that same amount at 6% annual compounding interest we would now be sitting on $298,000
