We have received several questions/comments about this incident in New York and how that bounce house is different than the inflatables we rent. 1. It was not a commercial grade inflatable. It was a Little Tikes manufactured inflatable that you can purchase at your local Wal Mart. All of our inflatables are commercial grade vinyl made to withstand wind gusts of up to 40mph. 2. It was properly staked down. However, Little Tikes only provides very small plastic stakes for their inflatables. Our inflatables are staked down with very long steel stakes in multiple locations. Our taller inflatables are also tethered down with straps. And, if it is windy, they also have 100lb sand bags on each corner. If weather conditions do not look favorable for safety, we do not put them up. 3. It only weighed 38 lbs. The smallest inflatable we have weighs 250lbs and our larger ones are 700-750 lbs. We, as parents, have purchased Little Tikes inflatables for our own children in the past. They are not the same quality as the commercial grade and that is why they are less expensive. Our number one priority is the safety of the children playing on our inflatables. We take every precaution to ensure safety. We even had our latest water inflatable customized with slip resistant material for safety. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the children injured in this incident.
