We have the historical first black president who made it a point - TopicsExpress

We have the historical first black president who made it a point to compare a black youth who was killed to a son he never had. The president’s reference captivated all of America and caused quite a stir in that Florida murder trial. I bet many of the black youths who have been killed in Chicago since this president has been in office could have similar Obama attributes also, yet the president does not align himself with them being murdered on Chicago streets. This past week two black youths beat a World War II veteran to death. Even the mans blood running down his battered face and onto the ground couldn’t scream loudly enough to make them stop. Is it a combination of what these young boys learned from their neighborhood mentors, video games and social media that leads them to deny core beliefs that are true, that life is precious? Is it in the music of today, where a song leads one to think they are cooler if they are tough enough to kill someone and not care about the consequences? Like a song from the olden days might push your buttons to want to grab a girl and “Go Steady”, and maybe influence you to want to fall in love, is the music of today promoting gang mentality, bullying and brutality? These kids are our children, children who I believe were maybe not given a fair chance. Seventy per cent of black babies are born out of wedlock and some communities are heavily influenced by gang activity. Gangs, especially in communities where families without fathers are the norm, have a strong influence over children, even having kids under 10 commit crimes for them. This kind of senseless killing is going on today in Chicago. I would like to see the president give this he personal attention, with visits, rallying the media, personal social media messages, etc. Last year 243 people under the age of 25 were killed in Chicago. If you consider yourself an American, then these are your children, American kids killed, and being killed. What is the presidents red line for Chicago?
