We have the honor of having Sandra Morgan this Sunday! Join us at 10am! Sandie Morgan is Director of Vanguard University’s Global Center for Women and Justice, overseeing the Women’s Studies Minor as well as teaching Family Violence and Human Trafficking. Sandie serves on the Faith Alliance against Slavery and Trafficking Steering Committee and offers Hands That Heal (FAAST) training at Vanguard University annually. She began her anti-trafficking work in Athens, Greece where she served on the Board of the Athens International Nurses Association. She has also served as the Administrator of the Orange County Human Trafficking Task Force (OCHTTF) before returning full-time to Vanguard in order to extend the work globally. She recently completed a British Council grant project partnering with the University of Duhok, Iraq to build capacity for women’s studies which has resulted in opportunities to provide community and law enforcement training on Human Trafficking and is the subject of her soon to be completed dissertation. The Global Center for Women and Justice partners with the OCHTTF to provide human trafficking training for community professionals including healthcare providers, law enforcement, teachers, and social workers, contributing to the Grand Jury and the Juvenile Justice Commissioners. The GCWJ hosts an annual Ensure Justice Conference (Proverbs 31:8). We are called to be a voice for the voiceless and ensure justice for those being crushed. GCWJ supports students and the community with research and education to prepare them for advocacy and action, including the VU Live2free student mobilization teams, which have reached thousands of teens and been nationally recognized. The GCWJ “Ending Human Trafficking” podcast extends the opportunity to equip a wide audience around the globe reaching more than seventy countries—from Australia to Zambia.
