We have to get a grip. Ebola is not a crisis in the United States. - TopicsExpress

We have to get a grip. Ebola is not a crisis in the United States. The most important thing we can do to prevent it from ever becoming one is to help Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea, where 10,000 new cases could crop up weekly, rather than to ban travel from those countries (there are no direct flights to the U.S. from these countries anyway). Isolating these poor nations would only make their situation worse and eventually imperil the entire world. The President needs an expert in global public health to head up the effort, such as the World Bank’s president, Jim Yong Kim (an American who led the global war on tuberculosis). Ron Klain is a good public manager but he fuels the Republican story of the White House playing politics. What do you think?
