We have touched on nutrition this week. We have hit on the secret - TopicsExpress

We have touched on nutrition this week. We have hit on the secret pill too. What about getting past all our excuses? This is not a easy subject but is very easy to get lost inside it. I mean it is quite simple with our very hectic sometimes chaotic lives to start allowing excuses to creep in also. These might include summer baseball or softball games, the kids on travel ball teams every weekend, working a ton of overtime at work, or projects at home piling up. These can also start to lean toward blaming others such as I cant find a workout partner, my spouse/roommate doesnt support me at all, my coach doesnt understand my struggles, etc. Finally they might even include blaming parts of ourselves such as Im just not seeing results, Im too sore to lift today, everyone at the gym will make fun of me or stare at me, or its been so long i dont know where to start even. However, it is very difficult to put our big boy or girls pants on and sometimes admit that we are simply making excuses instead of forcing results. Meaning it is very difficult to call yourself out as in laziness, lack of dedication, not focused, unable to set goals, etc. Ive been there done that myself. I used rotating 12 hour shift work and having 4 children in 8 year span as an excuse. Then I woke up one day weighing almost 270lbs with a very high fat % and decided enough was enough. I wasnt going to ever allow excuses to creep back into my life again. So I sometimes (alot) get out of bed at 3am to workout before my 12hr daylight shift so I can see my family for a few hours after work. I work with my wife to prep several days worth of our meals so we dont spend those precious hours always cooking clean food for our fuel. I workout alone sometimes since it is very hard to find a partner willing to workout at alternating times due to my always changing work and family schedule. Excuses are a game changer as in they will put a end to any beginning before results start happening and then your addicted to keep going. My advice is to set goals to work toward forcing you to put in the time and effort in the gym and in the kitchen to reach them. These can be as simple as, Ill hit the gym 4 days this week, or I am going to step onstage in a mens physique bodybuilding show, or i want to walk down the beach or at the pool this year without constantly sucking in my core area. Use these goals as fuel to make that fire burn deep within and before you know it you will be hooked to your new lifestyle and never ever will you miss the old you. You are the only person that can make yourself reach your goals but you are also the only person that can get in your way and derail them. Working hard will never promise success but not working hard will deliver failure everytime! #1stphorm #LegionOfBoom #iam1stphorm # 1stphorm4life
