We have very dear friends that live in New York City, close enough - TopicsExpress

We have very dear friends that live in New York City, close enough to our hearts to think of them as family. He was a NYPD Sergeant on 9-11-2001, and she was a young mom with two little boys to take care of at home. I was on the phone with him when the second plane hit and we realized it was not just a plane crash. He was at Ground Zero and then at the recovery site for months working in the clean up operation, I spend hours on the phone with her listening to the fighter jets flying over their home, seeing the pictures her son drew of the towers, hearing the utter sorrow in her voice reading obituaries about friends she had grown up with who were taken away from them on that day. Today she posted that some in NYC feel that the rest of our country think this day is just another Thursday. Although it may not have affected us as much as those in NYC, DC and Pennsylvania, I KNOW my friends and family share in the sorrow of this day and think of them, pray for them and thank them for the unbreakable spirit they have shown over the past 14 years. The rest of the country COULD NOT have gotten through this terrible chapter in history without your example of strength. For this I am forever grateful, and I know my friends and family are grateful at well. If you feel the same, please post a note for them below to let them know that the rest of the country, and maybe even in other countries as well, will #neverforget. We love you J and Scott.
