We hope and trust that everyone had a great Christmas day, - TopicsExpress

We hope and trust that everyone had a great Christmas day, enjoying today together as a family. Just a small walk down 2014 , on 6 December 2014 we had the first annual Ependy Angels Ball, not only where our guests met by angels but became angels too. Ependy Angels took a brief walk down memory lane as Sharyn ONeill founder and director of Ependy Angels also the mother of Layla ONiell better know as Raising Hope for Layla guided the guests down the accomplishments of 2014 . The journey started with Layla the young ambassador who has taught many the meaning of life and what fighting is all about. Layla was diagnosed with Ependymoma just 21 months ago and was predicted not to make her 5th birthday, when options to get the Proton treatment at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston came to an end many thought the journey had ended. This however was the birth of Layla & Sharyns charity Ependy Angels. Striving for other families not to go through the torment that Sharyn & Layla face on a daily basis other families where given a chance. Sharyn said My goal is not only to help get these children and their family onto medical aid, with a healthy environment these children fighting cancer will have one more day to become stronger, that gives us one more day to find a cure, it also gives their family one more day with their child. I personally know the fear of waking up every day of losing my child I dont want another family to go through this. Sharyn continued to explain the benifits of Ependy Angels and how Layla has given her the fight to fight for others. The next year ahead is going to be exciting as now people will see how many children will benefit from this, from doing cancer checks and educating parents but also making waves in the awareness sector. Ependy Angels also received their PBO status giving them the right to issue a Section 18A Certificate to corporate companies who are willing to donate to the fund. Childhood cancer is a serious thing, more children are being diagnosed on a daily basis, the children are the future but what is future without the children? A special thanks goes out to Brent Lindeque, Jason Greer, Dee From Strike a pose photography, Indaba Hotels, Vanessa from Kazoom, Samantha Ford from Studio2stage, Jade & Justadam without you the evening would not have been possible. Your time and effort was truly appreciated. To Sharyn for hosting the evening with Brent & Jason by her side. The Ependy Angels Team, Marjike, Belinda, Paula, Izelle, Jessica & Zane thank you for all your efforts in taking the time to be part of it. The team also received a small symbol for the next year forward as Ependy Angels launches their New logo. Over the next few days keep an eye out for all the efforts made during 2014 to help all our children.
