“We in fact are a species with amnesia. The fact that we don’t - TopicsExpress

“We in fact are a species with amnesia. The fact that we don’t know who we are, where we come from, why we are here, is part, if not the largest part, of the problem that faces humanity today. “Because when we start looking at ancient cultures and ancient civilizations, it becomes increasingly obvious that they had a much better understanding of those key questions, that they seem to know who they are and where they come from and why there are here. “And they tell us this in their texts and their carvings and their art and their literature that they left from ancient times. But that is the knowledge that is slowly and systematically being removed from the knowledge pool of modern society. . . . “What you find, when you go start looking back at human history, is that — the first thing that struck me, which is so very obvious, is that history is much older and much stranger than most of us could ever realize. “And that is part of the exciting part of the journey. It is truly like turning a new page of exciting information every day, once you do down this journey. And that’s what keeps me going and keeps me searching — not just for answers from the past, but solutions to the future. “We read in the ancient texts and in the Bible that, when the gods were on the earth, there were giants. This is just an example of how strange the history of our planet has been. “Now, when you walk into an average bar, or to an average dinner, today, and you start talking about giants to people, they look at you very strangely, because it’s not really a subject that most people are comfortable with, or they know very little about it. And yet, it’s something that is inextricably connected to this planet, to the history of this planet, and to humanity as a whole. “And to show you how strange and weird the story of giants is, I’ll show you this giant footprint that’s about 2 hours from my house in South Africa. “Now, when I first posted this on the internet, I had thousands of emails. I mean, within a week, we had more than a million hits on this Youtube clip. And I had thousands of emails from geologists and self-taught geologists and homemade geologists and PhD geologists and everyone who thought they knew anything about geology, calling me an idiot, saying, ‘You can’t leave a footprint in granite.’ And my answer to them was, ‘I know that.’ “This is why I post this up there. This is why we have a problem, Houston. So let’s not keep arguing ‘You can’t leave a footprint in granite,’ because there it is! Let’s rather start talking about how the hell it got there. “And then an email came from a Canadian who told me he was a third-generation gold prospector in the Canadian Rockies. And he said that they extract gold out of granite. This is granite rock, by the way [in the slide projector image]. “He said it’s very easy to explain, because, ‘once we take a rock, we crush it, we process it, we extract the gold, and when we leave for winter, we leave behind what you can describe as a wet cement, concrete sludge. When we come back after winter, this concrete sludge has hardened, and often we find animal footprints and bird footprints in it that have gone hard. And unless you knew that this was soft granite mixture, you’d be very confused.’ And that is a very easy, simple way of explaining what possibly happened, here. “And then I discovered that granite powder . . . is apparently a component of epoxy: glue. And the plot proverbially thickens. “So, what is the common denominator here? The word is gold. And we cannot get away from that mysterious obsession of humanity: gold.” - Michael Tellinger “Michael Tellinger gives a presentation at Hidden History Conference ICBP 2014“ https://youtube/watch?v=Kp-aU2uzT70 (start minute 3:38)
