We just got back from our two day hike a while ago. We didnt freeze to death at 5600ft elevation, so that is good. We were able to find plenty of firewood, caught one little fish, and had some really good hikes. There is an awesome camp spot at the small lake way in the back that we will hit next time. It has a huge flat top rock, and behind that is a little cabin type building. There is even an outhouse, but it isnt exactly enclosed. We saw lots of chipmunks, and a rabbit. We saw a big pile of fresh bear poop. I got stung by a bee while pumping drinking water through a filter. A few people came through the area, but nobody stayed, so we had it all to ourselves at night. On the way home, we got so close to a deer that it dented the drivers side fender and took off the mirror. Theresa was like a pro during the hiking. Her new pack fit her great, and she carried it well. I used the wrong pack for the trip, and we hauled way too much food, which made the hike a bit painful for me. Gods creation is awesome. We saw absolutely pristine forests, huge rock formations, crystal clear lakes, and much more. Although, I will admit that a hot shower, soft bed, and a good meal are welcome amenities upon returning home.
