We just made a loan on #Kiva to Alejandro in Soteapan, Veracruz, Mexico to help buy 8 head of cattle to develop a sustainable farming ecosystem. Alejandro (middle) is a young farmer, 22 years old, who lives in a rural community in one of the poorest states of Mexico. With the help of his father Santos (left), and his brother Julio César (right), he will use the loan to buy 8 head of cattle, fatten them and sell them to increase the household income. The family has been working with a NGO to obtain the technical expertise and built the necessary infrastructure to develop a silvopasture system. With this project, Alejandro will develop a more sustainable cattle-raising method through a silvopasture system.
