We just want to THANK everyone that has done an ice bucket challenge for Luke and to benefit SMA Research or SMA organizations. We sincerely are touched to see the support for our son. I have been asked several times on where to donate to SMA and Luke specifically, so I thought I would post the information for everyone to see incase there is anyone else wanting the information. To donate to the Kaspar Laboratory: makes checks payable to The Kaspar Laboratory at Natidonwide Childrens Hospital, 700 Childrens Dr., WA 3022, Columbus, Ohio 43205 The Kaspar Laboratory does research to find a cure for ALS AND SMA and Dr. Kaspar is a wonderful doctor that we have had the pleasure to meet and talk to. He is working very hard to find a cure for so many. Another organization is Families of SMA @ curesma.org. This organization holds the national conference every year for SMA families and researchers, they do many things for support for SMA families, including equipment pool, care packages for newly diagnosed families, many, many helpful publications for SMA families that go over all the informative things that so many others medical professionals dont. FSMA also helps fund many research programs and clinical trials to find a cure for SMA. To donate to Luke directly, you can go to any 5/3rd bank and let the teller know that you would like to make a donation to the benefit account for Luke Bertsch (No account information needed) If you are not in central Indiana, you can still do the same at any 5/3rd bank just tell them it is in the Central Indiana Region. Your other option is to make a donation via PayPal to kelbertsch@yahool and it will be transferred over into his account, or by mail. Lukes funds will be used for necessary medical equipment, not covered by insurance, home adaptions that will be needed and soon we will be working on fundraising efforts to save money for a conversion van that will be needed in the next few years. We sincerely appreciate your support and the willingness to donate to any of the organizations listed and also to those SMA organizations that are not listed.
