We kick start things in Angola were Jack Chileshe and his Agosto - TopicsExpress

We kick start things in Angola were Jack Chileshe and his Agosto teammates ran out 2-0 victors against a stubborn Primero de Maio side. The result took them up to 8th spot in the Girabola, fellow countryman Lawrence Phiri at Progresso had a fair weekend, with Progresso playing to a barren draw away in Uige. The result leaves them occupying 5th spot in the Girabola. Crossing over to Namibia were Zambian Patrick Pac-Man Sakala plies his trade for Katutura outfit Tura Magic. Patrick and his teammates were involved in a Cup semi which also turned out to be a mini derby as it pitted them against Katutura giants Black Africa. It was all or nothing with the latter looking to go a step further in their quest for the elusive NFA Cup but it was Magic who got the ball rolling with a fine finish from their Ghanaian import Kalusha Alhassan who handed Magic a promising 1-0 halftime lead. The experienced Black Africa tried all they could to get back into the game, with the likes of substitutes Marco Van Wyk and Roger Katjiteo leading the attack later on but the Magic rear-guard stood firm and gave nothing away. They finally opened their account after a moment of individual brilliance from the exciting Willy Stephanus, who took a speculative shot from about 35 metres out which seemed covered by Magic goalkeeper Collin Ndjai only for the ball to embarrassingly slip through his hands, onto the inside of the upright and into the net to give BA a glimmer of hope of a comeback. But it was not to be as Magic held on and won the match 2-1 to reach the semi-finals of the lucrative Bidvest Namibia Cup for the first time. Happy times for Patrick and his fellow teammates. Crossing the boarder now and over to the be Mobile Premier League of Botswana. We begin in matebele as BDF XI looked to stamp their authority on the League after that hefty 5 point deduction some weeks ago. Zambian Saukani Zulu and his teammates put a fair performance at home to Miscellaneous and ran out 1-0 victors. BDF are now locked in second place, 3 points behind log leaders Township Rollers. In the other League encounter the boys from the mineral rich region of Orapa failed to build from last weeks away victory, as they squandered an early lead at home to FC Satmos and in the process went down 3-1. It was Zimbabwean hitman Patrick Kaunda who did the damage and sent Zambian striker Muundia Makokwa and his Orapa teammates back to the drawing board as they now work on their calculations on how to avoid the drop. Orapa are just 4 points above the relegation zone with 3 games to go. Fellow Zambian Shabby Mwaba at Extension Gunners did not feature as Gunnners went on to record a 1-0 victory much to the delight of their Serbian coach Dragojlo Drago Stanojlovic. The result keeps Gunners at 9th spot on the Log. Leaving the Be Mobile on a good note especially after hitman Ronald Chikomo continued with his goal scoring bonanza as he rifled home the only goal for Gaborone away in Francistown where they took on TAFIC. The result keeps them up in third place equal on points with second placed BDF XI with three games to go. Heading over to the Absa Premiership were Kennedy Mweene kept a clean sheet as Mamelodi Sundowns beat glamour boys Kaizer Chiefs 1-0 with the lone goal coming via a Teko Modise strike. The clean sheet brought Mweenes tally to two clean sheets in his last 6 appearances. On to the next one now, Siwelele style as Chipolopolo defender Davies Nkausu continues to impress German coach Ernst Midderndorp at Bloemfontein Celtic. They took on a Platinum Stars side that was wounded following their Nedbank Cup defeat to Maritzburg United, but it was not to be as Celtic had answers . Nkausu is enjoying his football at Celtic and the defender went about his work quietly and in typical Nkausu fashion, he didnt put a foot wrong going on to play the entire 90 minutes . Celtic were richly rewarded when Motswana hitman Joel Mogorosi scored what turned out to be the winner and in turn sent Celtic up the ladder to 8th spot on the Log. In what turned out to be the last fixture involving Zambians in the PSL, Zambians Chris Katongo and Joseph Musonda started the match for struggling Golden Arrows away at Maritzburg. It was the same old story, with Arrows going on to register the litany of results they have been accustomed to this season. It ended 1-0 in favor of Steve komphela and his Maritzburg team, leaving the Zambian contingent at Arrows with only 5 games to go to save the Club or risk going down to the NFD. A stop over in the DRC, as chants of Lungu ! Lungu Lungu stole the show. It was a Zambian affair as CS Don Bosco took on sister club TP Mazembe. Don Bosco went on to beat Mazembe 3-2, with Zambian striker Luka Lungu grabbing a hat-trick for Don Bosco, midfield maestro Rainford Kalaba opened the story for Mazembe with a class finish but it was not to be as the 3 points went to Don Bosco. Over in Egypt, Zambian striker Davies Mwape and his Petrojet teammates continue to lead the log, as they were held to a stalemate at home to Wadi Delga. Not too bad for Petrojet who enjoy a 4 point lead at the Top of the Log. We head into distant shores now, starting with Isael were Hapoel Raananan failed to break through a stubborn Ironi Ramat HaSharon defensive formation. It ended 0-0 with both teams happy with a draw. Result keeps Raanana in 11th spot on the 14 team log table, both Emmanuel Mbola and Francis Kasonde featured. Staying in the Ligat haal it was happy times for chipolopolo striker Rodger Kola and the rest of his Shmona teammates as they cruised past Bnei Sakhin (4-1) . Striker Rodger Kola did not get on the score- sheet but at least got a 30 minute run. Moving over to the French Ligue 1, which seems to have taken Zambia by storm going by the Zambian quartet at the Club. It turned out to be one of those games which just werent meant to be, as Sochaux went ahead at the break and it all happened in last 4 minutes of the first half with goals coming from Jordan Ayew and Sebastien Corchia. Football being a game of two halves had another story in this one as Bastia who kept pilling up pressure fought back to tie the game in the second half. Sochaux should have won this one had it not been for the poor finishing touches of Sebastien Roudet and Roy Contout. The Montbeillard Club are now 8 points away from safety with belief still very much there. Moving over to the Eredivisie were ADO Den Haag welcomed Utrecht in what turned out to be a Baptism of fire. Utrecht went on to lose 4-1 and will maybe blame that on the poor officiating which saw them having to play the last 70 mins of the match with 10 men . Zambian striker Jacob Mulenga came on with Utrecht trailing 3-1 but there was very little the Zambian could do as he was heavily marked leaving him with no room to operate freely save for teammate Jan Toornstra who rifled home a consolation at the 90th minute mark to give the travelling fans something to smile about. The result sent Utrecht down to 14th place in the Eredivisie. In Thailand Noah Chivuta continues to lead like the captain he has always been, and yesterday was no exception . The midfielder swung in a Chivuta trade mark cross from about 30 yards which was headed home by teammate Ivan Boksovic enough to give Korat the 3 points and keep them on top of the League in Thailand as they went on to register a 1-0 victory. We finish off the wrap in Vietnam, were the League kicked off 3 weeks ago. Zambian hitman Signs Wonderman Chibambo scored the opening goal at the weekend for Tay Ninh as they were held to a draw by second placed Dong Thap. It ended 1-1.
