We know we need to be more physically active, but how should we do it? Pick an activity that you enjoy and start with small, specific goals, such as taking 3 ten-minute walks this week. Slowly increase the total amount of time and number of days you are active. Remember these safety tips: Check with your doctor about ways to safely increase the amount of physical activity ypu can do. Take time to warm up and cool down. Start slowly and build up to more intense activity. Wear a sturdy pair of shoes. Stop if you have pain, feel dizzy, or feel short of breath. Drink water.
