We learnt that a considerable number of key roads have been placed with concrete blockades by the military within the Colombo city area. It has been brought to our knowledge by media at least 14 of such barriers are already in place. Does it make any sense? yes, it does, matter a lot after they release the presidential election results. This is a pre-matured failure effort put in place by the government in order to prevent people being marching towards high security zones after Maithripala Sirisenas victory. from the other hand, law does not permit at all to remain in power until 2016, if the former president Mahinda Rajapaksa is defeated at this presidential election. His defeat in any case will certainly make history in Sri Lankan politics where as he has to step down as the executive president of Sri Lanka. There is a rumour in the society today, that if the president is defeated, his brother Gotabaya who is the secretary of defence, perhaps may run for a coup and take ver the government. If the general public remain calm after the victory of Maithri, this opportunity will not be created for him to go for a coup. Hence, let us remain peaceful and be patient until a power transition take place in an official form.
