We like to think that slavery was abolished 150 years ago. But it wasnt. Over 30 million individuals are enslaved -- in brick factories, garment industries, gold mines, fisheries, prostitution houses -- today. They work for little or no pay, 16+ hours a day, entire families (including children), breathing in harmful dust, wading in toxic chemicals (like mercury) . . . without hope. Until someone offers them a chance to make a fair wage through an honest trade. Until YOU purchase the item they made and received a living wage for. YOU bring them hope when you shop at the International Fair Trade Sale.
