We live in a world that constrains us. From birth we are told what is right what is wrong. What is good what is bad? What to be proud of and what to feel shameful for. A lot of these things are social constraints. They are right or wrong because our current cultural beliefs tell us they are, not because they actually cause anyone true harm. I keep asking myself why we allow ourselves to be so controlled and so restrained. Why can we not just let go and allow ourselves to be happy on our own terms? Why do we continue to repress people into neat little boxes that eventually subdues any free spirit or true creativity? It seems very few people escape these restraints, and I wonder how many people are already so subdued and beaten into submission that they don’t even try.
