We love to share our happy adoption stories with all our supporters and some just tug at the heart strings a bit more than others. This little boy came into our rescue a very neglected little poppet - but read on - because Lockies life took a different direction once he went into foster with Belinda and her lovely family - hes now a very cherished part of their home and their lives and loved to pieces - this is Belindas story of Lockie - This is little Lockie, who came to us 18 months ago as a foster dog. Although extremely neglected, very skinny and frightened he took to us instantly. With not much prior human contact he had to learn how to be part of a family and the first night he sat in bed and shook uncontrollably. We put bells on our other dogs collars to help him follow them around the place and made him a special bed that he could base himself from when in the house. We taught him to walk on the lead and how to cuddle and be patted. He came to school with Liam and met his class and his photo and story were put up on the wall for the children to see. We promised he would never be hurt again.....and soon failed as foster parents as we could not fathom the though of him ever being neglected again. Here he is today cuddling up with Buzz, Sweep & Liam (left to right), with an Oscars law scarf on after attending a dog festival and snuggling up with Liam in bed (a long way from his first night he arrived here). Lockie is an absolute inspiration to all of us. He has taught us to love, to trust, to accept and to forgive. Everyday he shows us the unconditional love that could only be expected from an undamaged soul.....his strength and courage astounds us. We are truly blessed to have Lockie in our lives and love him dearly.
