We made it! How can a week that only consisted of two school days feel like it lasted a month?!? This was the first week of school for John August. Big brother started on Tuesday and John started on Wednesday. It usually takes a bit to settle back into the schedule, and so far it has been pretty rough... and he has only gone two days so far! This year John starts twenty minutes earlier and so he doesn’t have the normal lounging time after we drop off big brother at his school. This seemed to throw him off a little. Also, he now he gets home twenty minutes earlier and he just seems to be a little off when he jumps off of the school bus. Both days he ended up crying for a long time and was pretty upset for the afternoon. Of course he got even more upset when we had to go pick up big brother when he was done at his school. After we got home from getting big brother he continued his grumpiness until evening. The school year didn’t start off on the right foot either. On Wednesday, his first day, the bus was twenty(!!) minutes late. I was beginning to think we missed the bus or the bus forgot about us. We were outside waiting about ten minutes early as requested by the bus company and by the time the bus got there (did I mention it was twenty minutes late), John really wasn’t interested in going to school. Thursday morning was better though: the bus was only five minutes late. However, after school grumpiness resumed. I’m hoping this coming week will go smoother! And on the bright side, only 274 days left till summer vacation.
