We made it to Rwanda and were greeted by an awesome performance of dance and song by the people. We are staying at the hotel the movie Hotel Rwanda was based on. During the day we went to the Genocide museum and as stoic as I stayed during our tour and after laying roses on the graves of over 300,000 victims, I broke down a bit after we left. To see so many faces of the victims that were tortured, raped and killed hurt my heart...but all the innocent children is what got me the most. Over 1 million bodies found in all... And although I knew seeing all this would be hard, it was more important to learn the true story of what happened because the movie was not entirely factual and true. Off today to explore the city with my Babe. More pics to come. :)
