We may not always agree with decisions made by a grand jury or jury, but to impugn the integrity of those who serve without having heard and objectively considered the evidence presented to them is inappropriate. Our system is not always perfect, but it exists to preserve order. On the other hand, when people lose faith in our system it loses its ability to effectively preserve order. There is an entire segment of our society that no longer believes that the justice system protects them. So firm is their belief, based on a history of abuse, that the individual facts in an individual case dont matter to them any longer. However you come down on a case that has been highly sensationalized, the circumstances surrounding this incident are tragic. The death of Michael Brown is tragic. Demonizing the officer involved without all of the facts is tragic. The way the media handles these types of controversies is tragic.
