We need the hand of God Luke 1:66 “And all they that heard them laid them up in their hearts, saying, What manner of child shall this be! And the hand of the Lord was with him.” It is said of John the Baptist that, “the hand of the Lord was with him.” I would imagine that is something that we all should desire. When Noah built the ark and brought all those animals inside it is pretty obvious that God was with Him. At the time when Moses parted the waters of the Red Sea it is evident that God was there. On Mount Carmel when Elijah prayed down fire from heaven that burned up the sacrifices it could not be more apparent that the presence of God was there. In Israel when Hezekiah prayed concerning the Assyrian soldiers, 185,000 of them, and they all died in one night no would question if God was in attendance. When the miracles of Old Testament transpired it was unmistakable where God was. When, in the New Testament, the lepers were healed, the deaf received their hearing, the blind received their sight, the dead were raised, and the 5,000 were fed Jesus was there. Question: was there ever a time in history when we needed the hand of God any more than today? Our country needs the hand of God. Our churches desperately need the power of God. Even in our individual lives we urgently need God and His might. The only way to get the power of God is holy living, obedience, and prayer.
