We need to change our approach to politics. We should be bothered - TopicsExpress

We need to change our approach to politics. We should be bothered with the results. Our leaders have always promised us heaven & earth. But end up on a very disappointing note. For example the NRMO government has always talked about industrialisation. Im not sure how many industries/factories the govt has put in place. According to media reports many factories which were in Jinja have closed or those which are still operating are not in a modern state. The govt for the last 28 years has alwayed talked of modern agriculture. But up to now the best farming tool is a hoe or a panga. Many Ugandan farmers do not know any thing about fertilizers. The govt has always promised big things but no results. Look at prosperity for all programs. According to media reports the gap between the rich & poor is widening. The poor are becoming poorer, the rich richer. During 2011 elections, the govt promised University loan schemes but up to now the scheme has not started. There was youth venture scheme, its success is not known. How did this scheme start? Because of high unemployment, the govt came up with 44B in a budget. This money was approved by parliament. The money was put in banks but strict conditions like land tittles, age were required in order to access the loans. No report was made about the youth venture capital. Then another program was launched. This is youth livelihood scheme. Mr. Pius Bigirimana who ate over 50B shillings in the PMs office was put in charge. Ugandans are very hopeful to receive this money. In summary no government project since 1986 has ever succeeded 100%. Look at Entanditwa scheme, NAADS, PMA,UPE, USE, etc have been very disappointing. What govt has successfully achieved is making Majority of Ugandans idiots. In the Uganda of today, university graduates, rural illeterates, primary kids do not make any difference. The M7 administration has created a confused Ugandan society which the next leader will try hard to put in order. I want to assure Ugandans that NRMO is just a fake project.
