We need to kill The Death of Klinghoffer and not for the reasons most people think. Heres why: The recent Gaza war has made absolutely clear that the way the Arab enemies of Israel do battle is a mix of human shielding, parading fake casualties, inflating numbers, attacking civilians and drumming up western sympathy. This not a new phenomenon, take for example the Jenin Massacre where the BBC continued to promote the massacre propaganda here: news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/1937048.stm after the UN had concluded that the claims were unfounded: dailymail.co.uk/news/article-131130/No-massacre-Jenin-says-UN-report.html The Israeli commitment to avoiding civilian casualties is also not new but in our early history we did not have the advantage of the robust media scrutiny that is available today. I think The Death of Klinghoffer is dangerous not because it humanizes terrorists by presenting their nauseating rhetoric and viewpoint, as this is well known and (as much as it upsets me) is only being depicted artistically. My objection is that you dont need to go any further than the opening chorus and the chilling video accompanying it to see that it propagates the Arab lies about atrocities committed by Israelis during the defensive war of 1948, presenting Israelis as Nazis. It is the opening chorus ostensibly to lay out the underlying cause for the hatred of Israel, when in fact the hatred of Israel and of Jews predated the war of 48. Actually, the cause of the 48 war was Arabs unwillingness to accept a two state solution. We must protest this insidious misrepresentation of the Arab-Israeli conflict which seeks to justify the continued conflict, with no benefit for Arabs, only more death as Israel rightfully defends herself against aggression.
