If you read any post today, read this one, written by one of the greatest American historians, the late Howard Zinn, in 2006. Amid the endless jingoism that always attends national holidays (which tend, regrettably, to resemble religious holidays, as though American exceptionalism were some theology), we need to be reminded of the citizenship that counts most, our citizenship in the world.
