We often post about our conversations with our clients and how salt therapy is helping them⭐️ The results differ for each person just like we know when one person has a cold or virus, it’ll be different to the next person’s. We think it’s important that we highlight the different experiences through the salt rooms so our clients have a realistic managed approach to their salt therapy sessions. I wanted to share my own story! Well actually, its about my daughter Stella😊 How it all started… Winter saw Stella come down with a virus that turned into a nasty chest infection that turned into boarder line pneumonia and she ended up on antibiotics. Following the course, it felt like she was 75-80% better. She didn’t work as hard to breath, her snotty nose had turned from green to clear and she had no temps but she still had a lingering cough that we’d hear more so in the quiet of the night and we just didn’t feel like she was back to her healthy self. The idea to try salt therapy… It was actually our Doctor that suggested we try salt therapy to see if we can “get rid of” the last of her symptoms before a second course of antibiotics and boost her immunity so we don’t spend a winter fighting cold after cold after cold. (P.S as a registered nurse, I didn’t even know what salt therapy was! Of course I know now that its very common in Europe and used as mainstream treatment for many respiratory conditions and is becoming popular here in Australia – last count there are over 20 salt rooms in Aus). What we did... We took her to the salt rooms, every day for a week as suggested. After the first two sessions, I thought this isn’t working!! 👎 Because she had developed a real productive cough and just seemed miserable, but we continued with salt therapy to the third and fourth sessions and after the fourth session, we noticed how much she had improved– her cough had gone and she no longer had a stuffy nose. What I know now... 1) It often takes a couple of sessions to bring up the mucous and bacteria production thats sitting in the base of your lungs, hence her productive cough she seemed to have after the first couple of sessions. Had I stopped after the first two, I wouldnt have seen the change in her towards the end of the week. 2) as a mum, I was reassured that what I was doing was natural and a drug free approach to try and alleviate the symptoms of coughing, and difficulty sleeping with the end of her chest infection (she was only 13months old at the time. Its pretty rough to see little ones feeling so miserable😟) 3) I was happy to play, relax, and (breastfeed) her during the sessions in order for her to get the benefit of salt therapy. It seemed much more pleasant then a cough dragging on for weeks and her being miserable. I was happy to give something a try. The outcome... Stella got well after our initial salt treatments and we had a very healthy winter. And well as a result, the idea for was born! That was two years ago, and well the rest, as they say, is history!😜😊
