We people have skilfully mastered the art of disguise and masking. We beautify and gentry the outside for the purpose of masking the miserable conditions in our lives. We shine on the outside but fainting on the inside. We are loaded on the outside but empty on the inside. We sleep on big beds but worry keeps us awake all night. We ride high on the outside but sinking low on the inside. We have everything together outwardly but spiritually falling apart on the inside. Little do we realize that designer labels cannot cover spiritual nakedness; full pockets cannot satisfy empty hearts and men’s applause cannot negate god’s displeasure.
