We qualified because of power play - Sethibe Former Botswana Football Association Technical Director Mr Sonnyboy Sethibe, said the Zebras qualified for AFCON because of power play. You cant play with players who are not physically and mentally fit. We identified our weaknesses and strengths, and we realized that we just need to be super-fit. That is why we matched teams in our group. We knew when to drop back and the right time to attack. Speed and Power were the most important aspects. It was all about team work, and if you check out the character of all those players, they were unbelievable. They worked very hard, it was not easy. We had Prof Onye, very fantastic, he worked well with our technical team led by Stan Tshosane, and we delivered. You should also note that during that period a lot of teams in Africa were going through building process. If you look at Tunisia, they were building a young team. Most of their players were promoted from under 23, we had to capitalize on that. Togo were also building, but Malawi nearly gave us a problem because they were not building, but fighting to qualify. There is a difference between building a team for the future and aiming to qualify for a certain competition. Tunisians are now able to compete because they gave themselves time to build. They have a structure to guide them, without that kind of structure you cant meet your targets. We used Ben Koufies structure to achieve our targets. To tell you the truth, there are people in our football who are not willing to change or do the right things, they refuse change and we still have a long way to go, Sethibe said on Wednesday.
