We really, really, really, really, really need to move away from the discussion that racism is an individual act of bigotry between two people and focus on systemic issues that affect an entire population. We also need to move away from the idea that this topic is uncomfortable for many people and get to the heart of the matter. Here is the deal: discussing racism is going to get ugly and peoples feelings are going to get hurt BUT our black and brown babies are on the line here so some of you need to get over hurt feelings.
