We received this yesterday, take a look at how Stephen did with one of our self help videos :-) AMAZING! I am a 67 year old male. I went in for a total knee replacement surgery on May 20, 2013. I went under a general anesthetic rather than a spinal block because I had not been off my blood thinner for a sufficient time before surgery. Consequently, it appeared in the hospital that the general anesthetic had affected my bladder. In the space of 3 days I was administered 2 straight and 1 foley catheter placements. After leaving the hospital Wednesday afternoon my urination retention continued. I had a Home Health Care Nurse insert a straight catheter that evening. She was able to draw 1300 ml off my bladder around 9 pm. Then around 1 am I had to go to the emergency room at the hospital and have another foley catheter inserted. They drew off 1350 ml this time. I contacted a urologist recommended by the hospital who set up an appointment at his office for a week later. I had the catheter from Thursday to the next Wednesday. In the meantime my daughter researched and found eFull Circle online. And I called Dawn Lewis. On Wednesday I went into the urologists office to have the foley catheter removed. At 2:30 in the afternoon I went back for them to check me after I had urinated a very little. And they sent me home without a catheter. However, by 6 am the next morning I required another insertion of a foley catheter. The urologist again set up an appointment for a week later. My wife performed the 4 exercises/pressure techniques just before the nurse took the catheter out, and once after. I have been urinating naturally ever since. I am convinced that this technique was what was required to get my bladder muscles and nerves working again. I surely did not want a catheter to remain in until the following Wednesday if it was not necessary.
