We request your prayers for mercy, compassion and release for Raif Badawi, Souad Al-Shammary of Saudi Arabia, and all human rights defenders globally who have sacrificed so much for the human rights and freedom for all of humanity. In the 53rd verse of chapter 39 of the Holy Quran it is written. (surat l-zumar) Say: Despair not of the Mercy of Allah: for Allah forgives all sins: for He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. It is said, “Limitless is your Lord in His mercy.” God Almighty, is full of love and kindness to His creation. As is written in the Holy Quran, Islam teaches that God is more merciful toward us than our own mothers. How can it be otherwise, when some of God’s names and attributes include: The Compassionate; The Loving; The Most Merciful; The Source of Goodness. Most Merciful Allah, grant that the leaders in Saudi Arabia, and the world will awaken to reflect the mercy, compassion and love which comes to us in every religious and spiritual tradition. Most Compassionate God, please grant that Raif Badawi and all human rights defenders are treated with mercy, compassion and dignity that you have toward all of your creation. May all of humanity awaken to greater depths of peace, compassion, mercy, freedom, equality and unity for all people and every land. May we do all we can to respect and care for one another and be good stewards of our beloved planet. Ameen Raif Badawi, an innocent man, has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment, 1,000 lashes to be administered at the rate of 50 per week and ordered to pay a fine of 1m riyals or about $266,600 for blogging, defending human rights and religious freedom.
