We set out on a much needed vacation from life last week. We were heading up to tangle lakes with a couple friends to spend a week exploring the lakes and trails in the mountains. Instead of having a nice reprieve from life and our terrible year we have been having we ended up having transmission problems in the Durango. The tranny was rebuilt a year and a half ago, only pulled our boat to the lake with it twice, 14 miles round trip........... We made it 30 miles from glenallen and the tranny temp light went off. So we pulled over. With a bit of work and a phone call we found out that the tranny cooler was plugged as well as the check valve in the line. Got a new cooler and filter in. After a few trips to glenallen.............. She moved on her own!!!! Woo hoo!!!!! We thought.......... Started in our way.................. And............ POP........... then nothing........made it 500 yards and the tranny blew. We camped IN the Durango the first night.......... Set up camp by a small pond next to the road the second night........... Rented a Uhaul pickup the third and limped home.......... Had to leave our trailer we tow behind the mini-mog up there because the Uhaul we got was a pile and we couldnt bring it with. Im so sorry for putting my wife and kids threw all that as well as messing up the trip for our friends. Guess its just icing on the cake for this years fun.
