We should have a US history re-education program with emphasis on the genocide of the Native American peoples to include the Philippines. I would like to reiterate my quest for : 1.) Native American status using the Philippine Genocide of 1899-1902 as the basis; 2.) Establishment of a government-in-exile for the Philippines based in London, U.K. 3.) Repossession of my oil, gas & mineral rich ancestral land, the Philippines. Al Qaeda and now ISIS are still hostile to the U.S. First, why not rescind the 1946 Treaty of Manila that the U.S. Senate ratified on 22 Oct. 1946 and prematurely, irresponsibly and unjustly granted independence to the Philippines, a former U.S. territory? The pledge of allegiance says indivisible, with justice for all. I now seek from the U.S. Senate the fulfillment of this pledge. Be it the 1934 Commonwealth Act or the independence granted the Philippines in 1946 there never was any referendum seeking the consent of the natives of the Philippines. Walker received a letter from his son and showed it to the Boston Journal, which reported about it on May 5, 1902. The letter described how 1,300 prisoners were executed over a few weeks. A Filipino priest heard their confessions for several days and then he was hanged in front of them. Twenty prisoners at a time were made to dig their mass graves and then were shot. The young Walker wrote, “To keep them prisoners would necessitate the placing of the soldiers on short rations if not starving them. There was nothing to do but kill them.” ========================================== Had I the resources the “Filipino” oligarchs in the Philippines now have, I’d have hired lobbyists and provide our family history starting with the Philippine War 1899-1902 a.k.a Filipino Genocide. I also offer this presentation in support of the Temporary Protected Status I seek on their behalf of documented illegal immigrants in the U.S. who are natives of the Philippines. “The severity with which the inhabitants have been dealt would not look well if a complete history of it were written out” –Governor-General of the Philippines, William Howard Taft. Gen. Miguel Malvar’s surrender on April 16, 1902 marked the end of organized resistance in the Philippines against American occupation. To deal with other rebels and insurrectionists, the Philippine Commission passed the Brigandage Act of 1902 which interpreted all acts of armed resistance to American rule as banditry. My great grandfather Nicolas Aldana, a husband to a landowner was executed on Dec. 12, 1901 eleven months prior to the enactment of the Brigandage Act of 1902. It should be noted that during the Spanish Regime and before the Americans came, only full-blooded Spaniards were allowed to own land in the Philippines. Mestizos or half-Spanish and usually half-Chinese could only lease the lands from the Dominican Order. Nicolas Aldana’s (R.I.P. 12/12/1901) son Elias Aldana became a four term mayor of Las Piñas . Thereafter his grandson Bernardo Q. Aldana, a lawyer also became the mayor of Las Piñas. Bernardo was the mayor of Las Piñas when WWII broke out. Still another grandson Cenon A. Cosme joined the U.S. insular Navy; served during in WWII along with his cousin Constancio G. Cosme & my father Jose R. Macario, was captured when Corregidor fell on May 6, 1942. Cenon Cosme, the older brother of my mother Aurora C. Macario, was arrested by Filipino collaborators as a suspected American Agent in a saturation drive in Dec. 1944 less than two months before our town was liberated by elements of the 11th Airborne who made the jump at Tagaytay Ridge on 3 Feb. 1945. Believed to have been taken to the notorious dungeons of Fort Santiago, Cenon A. Cosme was presumed to have been tortured then killed. His body was never found. After the war, Bernardo Q. Aldana resumed his law practice and represented Americans whose properties were systematically being taken by relatives and friends of oligarch-traitors. (Manuel A. Roxas a known Japanese collaborator, in a Twilight Zonish twist, became the first president of the 1946 (3rd) republic.) Tracing my lineage and family history is necessary for the Native American status I seek. All Im saying is, we are NOW on the same side. Respectfully, Bienvenido Macario Lemuria Dec. 9, 2014 Philippine War 1899-1902 nedmacario.us/2014/11/02/philippine-war-1899-1902/
