My friend Kathleen shared this .. and it touched my heart so much.. we must remember to be the hands, feet, heart of Christ in this world. this was so precious and so encouraging thinking of when Mark and I used to take your 12 passenger van to Dayton, every weekend full of 25 gal stock pots of chili baked potatoes, feeding the homeless on the library lawn, in the bitterest cold, and the children we saw, thinking we may never see any of them again, all the children that came through our home, some adopted, some for a short time wondering what the outcome of their lives would be.. it is the prayer of our hearts we gave some a reason to strive towards better ways, and the reason in my heart, was remembering, growing up in and out of the childrens homes in between, hospital stays, and a home of turmoil, remembering sometimes being in the crippled childrens hospital for months with no family visitors, but a cleaning lady who came on her days off to spend time with me, a young resident who would come by on his shift to play cards with me, and ask what are you planning to be, if it were not for them I would have never thought I could be anything, but they encouraged me.. and my goal was to spend my life healing broken people in anyway I could. in the Bible Jesus is sitting holding little children on his lap and many gathered around him, mommies bringing them, and his desciples trying to shoo them away saying the Master is busy, and Jesus response is.. Matthew 10:42 And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward. thankyou my friend for this tonight it is encouraging.
