We split up and headed in two very different directions this weekend. The larger group headed to region 20 for the Hot Diggity Dogs Flyball Club and Performance Team tournament in Norwood. The weather was hot, humid and rain threatened to come in many times on Sunday but the hospitality was outstanding. It was a very different pace for us as we had two teams in and we had a great time just hanging out with each other in between races since that rarely happens when we enter 9 teams. Lizs baby Hudson entertained us for hours and did great for his first “camping” tournament as they stayed with Dave and Kelly in their RV with Meg Robinson as well. Melissa Taliana joined us to run open this weekend and even offered up some space in her RV for Natalie to camp as well. It was 3 hours away from most of our homes but it was actually a local tournament for Don as he only had to drive 40 mins to get there so he was able to go home each night which we are sure he really enjoyed. We went to have fun and we certainly did that. It was also another tournament for Sense and he did great on our regular team. Clutch is finally back to 100% and ran the best he ever has so with those two running as well as they did we somehow managed to run a 15.6 which was very unexpected. Guess being the last seed in fast regular 1 really helped push our dogs. Melissa and Tony ran on our open team which was all about the green dogs. Vital continues to figure it out and did so well in warm ups that she got a few heats in as well. She looks very good for her second tournament and Liz is very excited to see what she can do. For anyone who has not attended a HDD tournament you are missing a very well run tournament with no detail over looked. It is one you may want to put on your bucket list and head to the beautiful little town of Norwood. Congrats to Zoom Flyball Team for receiving the “Norwood Dream Team”, no other club shows more sportsmanship and has more fun than Zoom, is well deserved. We love Zoom, they are an awesome group to hang out with and have done such a great job building their team these past two years. Thanks HDD for a fun weekend, you all did a great job. The crew that headed to Nova Scotia for the Maple Leaps tournament has not checked in yet but the last we heard they were having a great time and every minute of the 19 hour drive has been worth it. One weekend off and then we host our 19th Annual Blast Off tournament in Caledonia. Preparations are in full swing and we look forward to hosting everyone. We know this will be a fun weekend, how could it not be when Ruff Enuff Flyball Team AND Hard Drive make the drive to region 2. Two of our favourite clubs to hang out with and we always look forward to spending a weekend with them.
